Interview Tips
  1. Research the company well i.e.:
    • via internet
    • go visit some of their customers
    • talk to anyone in their market that can give you an overview of the company

  2. Polish your shoes. Press your suit. Wear a white shirt or blouse.

  3. Do not wear:
    • wrinkled suit or frayed collar
    • mini skirt
    • 4" spike heels
    • black hose
    • excessive amounts of jewelry
    • painted nails
    • scuffed shoes
    • or any other inappropriate clothing items

  4. Take a resume. Also be prepared to discuss your achievements (% growth, $ growth, placement in the sales force hierarchy, any "'atta boys" that are noteworthy)

  5. Be prepared to give a thoughtful presentation of your accomplishments, chronologically. If you have had a negative experience during one of your jobs, brush over lightly and tell the interviewer what valuable insights you got from this experience.

  6. BE ON TIME.

  7. Look at the interviewer and smile.

  8. Listen to what the interviewer is asking and then give your answer. Talking too much is always dangerous.

  9. Ask well-thought-out questions.

  10. At the end of the interview, ask for the job or at least ask the interviewer if there are any questions he or she still has about your qualifications, so you can answer them before the interview is over. Also ask if you are going to get another interview or just ASK FOR THE JOB.
